Recently President Obama and others have stated that all spending is stimulus. Why then is there so much disgust regarding how the banks and Wall Street are spending the stimulus money they have already received? If all spending is stimulus what is wrong with spending the money on executive bonuses, office renovations, fancy toilets, new corporate jets, etc?
I understand that there is issue with the money not being spent, but that is a different issue. I wondering why the problem with the money that was spent.

I would bet that many people are employed through the process of building and maintaining a jet.
Correfan: Obama put no conditions on his statement. He just said that spending = stimulus. Doesn’t that mean trickle down spending is just as stimulative as trickle up? Why is it more stimulative for the government to buy a new ship (part of the bill) than it is for a corporation to buy a new jet?

Obama is asking that tax cuts make up 40 percent of a stimulus package, the people say. The measure may be worth as much as $775 billion, a Democratic aide says, meaning tax cuts may constitute more than $300 billion of the legislation.

Love the idea of lower taxes, however can congress controll the pork barrel spending? In 2008, the democratic controlled congress spent $17.2 Billion on pork projects. So can they control spending without bankrupting the USA?
