Angel Of Death asked:

A bunch of people got loans they couldn’t afford, and now the Taxpayers get to pick up the Tab.I for one am starting to think I should have bought a much bigger house.I like my house and all,but had I known we were going to bail out all the idiots that overextended themselves buying McMansions they couldn’t afford…

You and I were responsible like the brother who stayed around. The idiots are like the prodigal son. All the way back to the bible, the responsible ones have had to bail out the blooming idiots. The good guys always get taken to the cleaners.

I want to punish the blooming idiots in government and industry, from Reagon who taught us that greed is good and we had to deregulate up the wazoo, to Bush who told us to fight terrorism by shopping, taking out that second mortgage and shop shop shop, to the banks and brokers who found a way to make money off of other peoples stupidity, to the financiers who took our first bailout and spent it on themselves. I’d rather save the idiots who bought too much house and let the financial profiteers wind up on skid row, if we could find a way to do that

No, I don’t. Our mortgage is almost paid off, I watched friends use their homes like ATM Machines, buying cars, taking vacations, etc. My husband and I did some home improvements, but paid cash for everything we purchased and are enjoying our home and a very low mortgage payment. I resent having to pay for someone else’s lack of responsibility, but am happy we did behave responsibly.
