Congress has added a pay raise for federal judges into the deal for the automakers. It seems as though someone always adds more spending into a spending bill. Isn’t it time they took a look at each individual item in such a bill and each item should be approved separately?

it has not been agreed to and printed yet,as of 1:25 est am Feb 13th,but the timetable congress presents does not allow for public comment.
i have a problem with that.

Bush supporters state that congress spends the money. Correct me if I am wrong but were not the vast majority of spending bills written at the REQUEST of GW Bush to fund bailouts and the war in Iraq?

If I am correct can anyone honestly say that Bush had no input nor authority over spending after he requested the funds AND signed the bills?
Just Treading Water (below) Congress can’t overide Bush without a two thirds majority. Do they have a two thirds majority on either side of the Isle? Would enough reps crossover to make it happen?
